All results for your tests and investigations will be reviewed by your doctor when they are received at the practice. When your referring Dr is unavailable, results will be reviewed by another Dr at the practice.
When your GP reviews your test result as showing an abnormality that needs to be discussed, the practice will send you an SMS via the HotDoc recall system to let you know that you need to book a follow-up appointment.
Please contact the practice to let us know if you prefer not to be contacted via SMS in this way, our receptionists can then opt you out of our SMS recall system.
If you do not have a mobile phone a nurse will call your landline number to contact you about your abnormal results.
If we don’t hear from you in response to our contact attempts, we’ll continue to chase you up, either by SMS or phone call and, if more urgent we may try to contact your emergency contact person or next of kin to check we have the correct contact details and/or to see if they can reach you.
We will send you a letter to the address you have registered with us if we cannot get through to you after 3 attempts.
When your GP reviews your results as normal or non concerning you will not be routinely contacted about your results but we encourage you to ring our nurses if you would like to discuss or obtain copies of your results. You can leave a message with reception and a nurse will call you back when they are available.
Your results may also be available to you via your My Health Record if you have opted in for this.
Please book an appointment to discuss your results with your GP if you still have symptoms or concerns about the results or your health.
